WAY over due…here’s some Joy pass it on!

What do you do when life gets so crazy that you can’t even think straight?  What do you do when you have been swept down stream on a current never to be thrown off but just completely swept off your feet?  A LOT has been happening so let me catch you all up briefly…YOU LISTEN TO A SONG!!!   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEXhAMtbaec

1. Nomad and I are progressing well…better than well but, I am giving him 3 dates before he is going to be able to meet my family.  I told him I feel crazy, and he told me I was just being me and anyone that had a problem with it I should say “piss off”.  I think you will enjoy this next pic…

Nomad and I...

2. Cheerleading is cheerleading and I am so ready to relinquish my “Spirit Stick” and move on to bigger and better things.  I love my girls but, the cheerleader is burned out.

3. Work has been CRAZY TRAIN busy.  I will send you a link to our new website when we are to that point…ALMOST THERE!

4. My brother is moving out (we don’t have an ETA, however I am OK with that!)

5. Spring is just around the corner and because the SUN has been showing it’s beautiful face my days have been 100,000,000% better!  I know that’s a lot but the sun makes me so joyful.

6.  Participated as “Abraham Lincoln” on our Special Olympics of Allen County Trivia Team for a local fundraiser.  I went as Abe without legs…it was very fitting!  There is something so sexy about a woman with a beard…..

7.  I have been so joyful for not having any sleep at night…I swear life is so good!

8. Katherine is one of my dearest girls and we sat laughing so freaking hard we were crying and hardly making sense.  I am pretty sure to the “average joe” thought that we were complete idiots!

ONE last moment to share:

Yesterday, I had a massive headache.  I had cheer practice (ugh!), then the night progressed…tentatively I was going to the Chapel for a few brief moments, on to Mass with the girls, then out for ice cream!  After cheer, I was feeling very discouraged.  I basically stated “I didn’t feel so joyful right now because of all the negative swallowing me”  Nomad was so sweet and tried to cheer me up with his kind words.  It made me feel good knowing he was there for me.  Well he told me that I had a joyful heart…I totally just said I didn’t feel that joy though…but glad he could see it.  When I got to the Chapel, I said a few prayers for my cheerleaders and myself.  I then hurried off to Mass so I wouldn’t be late.  I lit a votive candle for a “special intention” but had nowhere to give my donation so I just held on to it.  After Mass, I went and excused myself from the girls and gave my envelope to Fr. I don’t go to this Parish so I was just introducing myself to him.  Fr. James was this Priest’s name.  How wonderful he is.  Well when I gave him my envelope, he told me that I was so joyful!  He said spread that joy to everyone.  I almost cried.  That was exactly what I needed to hear at that very moment.  I felt revived.  I felt relieved and happy.  I felt like I could now go out into the world and let the real CatMan be shown!  My energy had just been restored!  🙂  Then I got to spend the most beautiful time with my girls laughing and carrying on like little school girls.  It was awesome.  When it was all said and done, Nomad and I talked to each other and my whole world was right on balance.  I was right where I needed to be.  Life is SO good!

Remember, when you are discouraged–God sends you little angels to keep you going!  All He asks for you in return is your faithfulness.  Heck, my life is so wonderful!  Here is my joy and I am passing it on!  TAG YOUR IT!!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIRFE_1huMc

Feel like a circus animal?

Standard

Some days I feel like a circus animal.  No not one of the cool ones like a lion…OR the elephant…or EVEN the bear!  Sometimes I feel like all I do is juggle.  I get to be the caged juggler.  How uncool is that??   I feel strapped down, locked away…like a damsel in distress…..swoon!  But all in all, I feel trapped in my office and to my desk.

Yesterday I got my quilt back.  I had a really awesome thought of taking all of my t-shirts from high school, finding someone else to do this for me of course, and then making a quilt!  My idea of making a quilt would include the magic Genie where all I would have to do is rub the lamp and up she comes!  TAH-DAH!  Here it is!  Well it sort of happened that way…I think.  Essentially, we have a client named Keepsake Threads (www.keepsakethreads.com) whom I had received an announcement that their new website was up and kickin’!  That’s when it hit me….I had to call and see what they could do for me.  They were easy to work with, very friendly and overall just a peach of a company!  Essentially, what they do is take articles of clothing from whatever (whether it be a deceased grandmother’s decorative hanky’s or your uncle’s funky ties OR in my case high school memories thru t-shirts!) and create it into some other form like a bear, scarf, quilt…or whatever you could think of!   I personally wanted a quilt.

Meeting was a breeze.  I literally had three full bags of t-shirts from cheerleading, gymnastics, track and some random ones from Saint’s Alive (my high school’s biggest fundraising event).  I talked briefly to the designer and gave her free reigns.  She is the designer, this is her job, and I felt like she had connected with me enough to provide a quality quilt.  Boy, did she ever!

Beautiful swirled gold backing with navy and white polka dotted fringing.

Here is an example of what the back of my quilt looks like.  Because Red was a predominant color she used that on the front and complimented it with the Navy and Gold (my high school colors).

Vanna White and Mix Master Mike (my little sister and brother)

I wish these pictures were bigger but, the detail work, the time and effort involved was such a pleasure to see.  They really did a great job at capturing my memories into a tangible item for me to use and keep.  What a completely amazing piece of art and comfort.

I was very pleased.  Currently, I am trying to juggle about 6 different projects, report to 10 different bosses, all a while keeping my sanity!  YES wishful thinking…I only pray that cheer practice this evening goes smoothly, sushi is not tainted, and the roads remain clear! (fingers crossed!)

LAUGH OUT LOUD MOMENT:  Freaked myself out with my own shadow last night (I saw it in the moon light–as you can tell I am a big chicken…)

This would be THIS GIRL!! (pointing to myself!)

CYNICAL MOMENT:  Facebook stalking last night…someone I was talking to changed their status to single?  Does this mean they want to date the CatMan?  Or use her for her beautiful body?  Does he want a relationship?  AHHH the suspense is killing me!

BEAUTIFUL MOMENT:  Receiving a birthday cake from a friend and getting to blow out my b-day candles a whole 3 days sooner!  YAY!

TOTALLY made my day! Happy b-day to meeee!

LAZY MOMENT: right now……….3…..2……..1………..OK I am done now.

POSITIVE MOMENTUM MOMENT:  Telling three more people about my fundraising endeavors for our Special Olympics Polar Plunge 2011!  I am so excited!  Anyone want to come visit and plunge with me??

Today has been slow but sure.  But isn’t it the slow and steady that win the race?  I am keeping with that philosophy.  Being patient will pay off and prevent me from looking like a dumb butt.  I am convinced.

I am going to leave you all and go eat my cake!  Have a beautiful Thursday!!

Lunch Time Humor

Standard

Today of all days I wish I was flexible.  After about 13 years of cheerleading, you would think I would be but it just isn’t in my cards!  I have taken Yoga, stretched, etc.  But today I just feel old.

It’s a humbling feeling sitting with my friend Herb who is 95 (yes mark my word 95 years old!! I have had to remind him a few times!)  It is never a dull moment being in his company.  Well today we sat and had lunch at his Retirement Center.  He made a motion with his hand pointing at the old “biddies” talking loudly and causing a scene.  “They always have to be the center of freaking attention…Crap!” he said.  It seemed like that women were talking about us for some reason.  I am sure at their age they look for every piece of gossip they can and just talk to hear themselves speak.  You know how us women are!  😉  Their glares, their “quiet” whispers, and most of all their constant loud chair scoot!  OH man does that drive him nuts!

Today he was particularly on edge because he hasn’t been feeling well.  Good Ol’ Herb…maybe if your lucky I will share with you a few stories.  He is definitely a good friend.  ANYWAYS, Well first the glares started and you know that he didn’t miss that one.  He heckled from across the room “heeeey what are you looking at?!”  They quickly turned back around and acted as thought they were minding their own business.  EVERYONE knew it was Herb talking.  He has quite the reputation around there and that’s when we got the stares.  Man, that was the funniest thing ever.  If you could just imagine a bunch of old men and women just staring and looking disgruntled.  It was pretty awesome I am not going to lie.

Well we made it thru our usual soup and jello.  Herb ALWAYS gets that combination and as we were walking out this same women who just could not take her eyes off of us before asked if I was his daughter!?  We both got a good laugh out of this one.  He explained I was a friend’s daughter and his “Personal Secretary”.  She seemed satisfied with that response and we got the heck out of dodge!

You see this wasn’t the first time people had reason to wonder about me.  I have many friends who are usually older and more than likely male and people like to ponder what mischief I’m up to…  To me, that is the perfect position to be in!  One time I got mistaken as Herb’s “mistress”!  UH yeah right!  hahahaha.  That was the best one thus far.  I have been seen with my associate at a restaurant where his wife works and all the waitresses love to talk!  So point blank they asked his wife about who I was and man she played right along with it.

I think it is fun to leave people wonder.  I get the satisfaction and a good laugh at watching them.  What an amazing reminder not to assume and enjoy your company.  Who cares if you get stared down by some old women!  What are they going to do cane ya?

Look out! I saw what you did!
