Till the World Ends…..

This is my empowerment song of the morning:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e_i4l4sBv8.

Yesterday, was a crazy day.  First off, I was just exhausted come the morning.  I had some head pressure in the base of my neck, down my spine, a raw throat, and some fluid in my ears.  The only thing I could think of is to roll back over and sleep it off.  I got up, got moving, and took some appropriate medicine that helped huge.

Then, I got an email from an ex of mine.  It was really kind of pathetic.  I sent a very assertive response back but, not bitchy.  I asked after the fact if I was out of line.  Well, I also told Nomad about the interaction.  It would eventually affect him in a possible social setting and the last thing I want is that to be awkward.  I sent him an email explaining it.  Past is past but, when you are trying to build a future it helps keeping things honest.  The song I left you with is in reference to this situation.  (ON THAT NOTE: Don’t send someone an email to ‘get in touch’ given that you might be seeing someone more often…it comes off like you are avoiding a confrontation

I totally wish I could have seen this dude on the street....I think I would have lightened up....

I worked on a big project all day.  80% of my day was spent with this one project only to realize in the last hour that I had written it up wrong not just once, but 4 times!?!?!?!  I sent the documents off to our vendor confirming it and HA….poor vendor!  So I looked like a royal dumb ass….when it was brought to my attention the 3rd time, I adjusted it and sent it off….then the 4th time I fell dramatically, upon sounding the “Eff my life” call thru the office, in kind of a laugh/cry mode.  Kind of collapsed to the lobby ground. Tears were streaming as I was laughing at the luck of the day!  How nuts is that?!  Then Herb called twice looking for me…that is all I will say about that one.

As I was clocking out and running off to help mom, I still had a smile on my face.  I might have just had a mini-meltdown but, I wasn’t going to let that defeat me.  Keep on pushing little engine….keep on pushing on thru….

Just as I was finishing up at work I get a frantic call from my mom…poor thing.  I had typed out a Track schedule earlier with all the dates and practice times.  Well the schedule at school changed and they couldn’t hold practice.  So my mom and I ran over to the track to catch people and send them home.  A lot of them were OK with it.  My mom felt horrible.  I found out later that she too had a pretty crazy terrible day!

I came home after that and slept then Nomad texted me.  “Do you want to talk about your day? Are you still stressed?” (me) “A little bit but it’s ok.  I don’t want to damper yours at all.” (Nomad) “Nonsense…we are here to saddle each other’s toil.”  (me melting at this point)  “hmmmm…” (Nomad) “?  We are here to hear each other.” (me) ” Thanks doll. 🙂  You are a good team player!” (Nomad) “:) Your welcome”  Then, when I was done getting ready for me I called him.

Then I sat and created a post followed by a sound, VERY SOUND, sleep.  Sometimes it takes a circus day thrown in there to make you appreciate the calmness in our own lives.  It makes me savor the moments to which I can sit in silence and hear nothing.  I just zone out.  I needed to have 5 minutes of that yesterday…but, if I need to slow down today that is exactly my course of action.

Here is a good song to end on…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXrFBsYKrgE.

PS: perfect end to the night is run/walking 5 miles with Katherine (using mile markers as food items…pancakes, waffles, coffee….etc) then proceeding to go to IHOP!  All is well in the Universe!

Leavin’ on a jet plane…..don’t know when I’ll get back again….no but seriously!

Standard

A tad bit of irony this time with my Book of Face status.  We all remember the song by John Denver  “Leavin’ on Jet Plane”….WELL (as Jack Benny would say…) I placed this status up: “I’m leaving on a jet plane…don’t know when I’ll be back again…” as I was heading out to Aspen…and now I am stranded IN Aspen!  (Get it?  In COLORADO…John DENVER!  STRANDED)  OH no?!?!  NEWS FLASH!  Justin Bieber’s voice is changing!  Dang puberty!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kffacxfA7G4.  YES, I got BIEBER FEVER!  WHOOO!

Today we decided to get some late dinner.  We are waiting on pizza now.  At happy hour this evening we overheard a story as told by our table neighbors.  You see coming back from where our campus is set up going into town is a round-a-bout.  They were talking about these kids who were chanting “round-a-bout…whhhaaaaaattt!”  Long story short…they went around the round-a-bout like 5 times chanting and screaming!  Amazing…simply amazing.

Day one stranded in Aspen.  Success.  🙂

Yes this is a real thing for most Americans right now....making it very hard to get home....

NOW I was able to get out of Aspen that next morning.  HOWEVER, not home quite yet.  I am currently Day 2 stranded in Denver.  When I arrived in Denver I got an email alert saying my itinerary had changed.  This usually means a cancellation.  And that assumption was correct.  I got a hotel, wandered aimlessly around the airport to get my stuff situated.  I ran into a customer of ours (mind you in DENVER and she lives 4 hours away and in the same state that I reside in and I never see her!), got to play with a little tike, talk to a woman about rest and relaxation therapy, and finally got to my hotel.

At the hotel, I got everything set up and went down to eat.  It was pretty funny.  I met a gentleman who was originally  from Michigan.  It was a great lunch.  There are other like-minded people out there and its refreshing when you find them.  I also met a gentleman named Eddy Money, a group of people from a company that uses a lot of labels, and a guy from my hometown!  It was an awesome time.  So this morning I moved into a different room and I am trying to get my flight stuff addressed.

Out of anyone to be traveling alone, I think I may be the best at it.  I make friends everywhere.  Not a problem.  I actually had fun talking to people.  It makes the world so much smaller.  I can’t be upset at anyone because we cannot control the weather.  I am not going to get irritated with anyone and I am just going to figure it out.  You also figure out a lot about yourself when you are forced to explore.  Life is good.

I can ALWAYS make friends! 🙂

So here I sit telling you about my mini vacation.  It has been refreshingly wonderful.  I love it.  I have been so blessed.  I must tell you that I am ready to be home.  God apparently needed me here though.  So for now, I sign off and continue this adventure!

Happy Snow Day!

BLAH BLAH BLAH!

Standard

You will never guess how my morning started.  I got out of the house early and wouldn’t you know there was a TON of traffic.  I did however make it to work in record time though.  There was a car trying to pull a U-turn on the highway ramp this morning and actually that was pretty funny…out of no where and up over the grass and median…and the best part??  No not that they actually did a (pretty sure it’s an illegal action…) U-turn.  No it was not actually that they were from Illinois.  It was the fact that they did it in a HUGE Dodge Caravan!  Soccer mom missed her turn!  LOOK OUT!

Today has been a fabulous day aside from having to send an email that took me an hour to compose.  At 8AM mind you!!!  Then do you ever just feel so drained that you don’t want to do a thing after it?  Well I am pressing a long just fine.  I went on a date last night and that was fun.  We had a scary connection.  It was cool though.

Last night, I watched “It’s Complicated” for the first time and it was so good.  I laughed so hard.  What a great complement to such an already wonderful Monday.  Then I got a ring in the mail, from….well you might remember him from an earlier post….?  This is only something that would happen to a CatMan…THE ITALIAN PIMP!  Stupid business card…he found me.  I received this 2 Rose ring…which you know is just right up my ally  😉  I took a picture so you could see:

OK isn't this beautiful? What a great gift...FROM A STALKER!

Oh well, I took the ring out of the package and there was a note attached.  This note was probably one of the most sincerely cute/creepy thing I have ever seen in my life!   It read: “CatMan, I want you.  I want you to know that I want you and I want you to want me to want you…take this ring for now!  Fino alla prossima volta il mio dolce bella rosa!”  The Italian translates to: ‘until next time my sweet beautiful rose!’  How beautiful is that???  Well…it might have come from a guy that may or may not want to pimp me out but, flattering none the less.  It might be pretty spectacular that I got a gift and nice note but, I am sticking to my guns!

So I sit with my double rose ring on a happy camper.  🙂  Life is good!  Have a great day!
