Love and Inspiration: Return to Normal?

Standard

“Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.”
Bruce Lee

Today, I am going to use this as a morning inspiration. This artist took trash and created a beautiful piece of art. Now I realize the connotation of the matter as it could be taken as negatively as the subject, but I think he did a phenomenal job. From trash it became this beautiful piece. Kind of cool that he is thinking outside the box!! One man’s trash is another man’s treasure!

Don’t be afraid to think outside the box.  Don’t be afraid to try something different and make it your own.  Be not afraid of the repercussions of being different.  Venture into the great unknown and fall in love with your life.  Lately, I have been lacking inspiration.  I have felt in a funk, but different then usual.  I am so blessed because my friends have been there for me when I have needed them most.  Mostly all old and longstanding cherished friends.  Oh how I love them all so.

There is a lot going on right now in life and a lot is on my plate.  I will be relieved when school is done (6 months and counting), and Wedding is done.  AND life might go back to some normalcy.  Who am I kidding!  My life is far from normal.  I am forever thankful for that is fact!

Today, my mom and I painted my whole room.  It looks beautiful.  It is like a tealy-greenish-blue.  Very summer like and beautiful.  Well what you are seeing below is all of the painted room.  What do you think?

🙂 Painted pretty...sigh

Can you believe all of this fit into one little room???? Yeah there will be some downsizing....

I am still very much in a funk…but, I must say this funk has allowed me to have a cleaner house that eventually will look 1000% better.  Much better huh?  Well that’s life…turning the music up and pressing on thru this madness called life!

Something to look forward to….Super Woman and Nomad are going to be in town in just a week!  YAY!  I might have just tinkled a little bit…..shhhh!  Don’t tell anyone!  😉

Busy Bee…to blah

It seems as though time is slipping away from me.  Any one else feeling like that?  Work seems to be killing me and this weather makes it easy for me to be in a funk….can summer come sooner please?  I feel like my creative juices are draining out my back-end. (now that’s a glorious visual!)

I must say, I am watching this National Championship with Butler vs. UConn and this is and has been an absolutely terrible game from both teams.  Butler has had some beautiful shots but, overall I am rather disappointed.  It happens.

I am taking my car in on Wednesday and I am very seriously thinking about telling them to give me a trade in value….10 year VW Bug for a 2010 Jetta…..your thoughts?

This was the most interesting thing I have found today:

The CatMan…

About that…(cough cough)

Currently watching Mean Girls.  You know the one with Lindsay Lohan…prior to all of her time in jail.  It’s like I have ESPN or something…

3 rice crispy treats later…OK this I can justify because they had the perfect ratio of marshmallow and crispness.  They weren’t too hard, they weren’t so mushy that they just get your fingers and everything so sticky.  It was fantastic.  They were just wonderful!

nom...nom....nom....

Well for those of you who don’t know….I am in Aspen Co. until Jan 31st.  I am here with work.  This morning I got in and we consider this first day “set up” day.  Not bad really.  We are training and getting everything set up for the rest of the week.

Today I realized that life can be made so much better by keeping things in perspective and being organized.  I was super organized, had a list to go down, and I feel that it was a positive start to the day.  I am not sure how our “newbie” thought it was.  I think he is one that does better moving a ton instead of staying stationary.  But, he is doing well.

HA.  So following all of this madness….I am digging that I can relax.  I kick my feet up.

NO, I just got off the phone with my mom.  I really don’t like mean girls.  This cheer squad I coach has just got me all in a funk.  These girls are mean.

Yup....these are my girls....oh wait!

I am sorry but there is no reason to be mean….what is there to be mean about at 13 and 14~!!!  (ironic that I would be dealing with this tonight huh?)  WTF mite!  UGH.  Yeah about that….Not thinking about it….think happy thoughts…..happpy happppy thoughts!

I leave you with this little quote from Shakespeare…  🙂  OH happy day….

Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.  ~William Shakespeare

You can’t teach compassion!

You can’t have a light without a dark to stick it in.
– Arlo Guthrie

Today I start with this quote.  I say this because I am sick of being in a funk.  Bad days….good days…its life!  Life is all about what you make of it.  Part of this funk includes a harsh realization of who my friends really are and whom of which I can depend on…which surprisingly enough are a TON.

Friends make everything better.  If they are sincerely your friend, they will be there with you in heart, soul, love, and in your life!  When they exit, they really aren’t leaving for good but just taking a vacation.  So many times we get bogged down with the everyday grind that it’s difficult to see the light.  Friends get you to refocus yourself back on the light.  They can untangle the mess your in and help you get back on track.

Isn’t it amazing how well things work out when we keep things in perspective?  That bad day we had three weeks ago doesn’t seem all that bad now.  You survived!  It is inevitable that you are going to have more bad days to come…can you survive those too?  YES!  Yes you can.  Keep yourself in check and support those in their efforts.  Be a friend.

There are different levels of friendship but a friend is a friend none the less.  Keep an open and understanding heart to all those who are in your life and even to those who aren’t.  Did you know that you can be a friend to a complete stranger?  Amazing isn’t it?!  Stay positive for yourself first and foremost.  Stay positive and strong for those around you.  Be kind to everyone…not just those who you consider friends.  I love this quote by Plato, “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle”.  But, most of all have compassion toward all.

Aren't the hands of kindness so beautiful?

Everyone struggles with their life.  No one said life was going to be easy.  Doing the right thing, being there for someone even when it is inconvenient for you, loving someone even though they don’t love you back…these are all hard things to do but, if practiced often it helps keep things in perspective.  When practiced, you shift your whole outlook on humanity, yourself, others, your relationship with others…etc.

I cannot teach you to be positive.  I cannot teach you kindness.  I cannot teach you to be compassionate.  I can show you how to be positive, kind, and compassionate though!

Be an unexpected Angel...there's an element of surprise!

Reach out.  Be a friend to someone today.  They might really need someone’s kind words to help them thru their unheard battles.  They might just really need someone to listen or take interest in them.  Or maybe just a heartfelt encouraging note.  It doesn’t take much to be a friend.  It merely takes a simple act of love.  This is so fitting…http://www.actoflovefoundation.org/.
