Cannot Stop Sneezing

Standard

So today has been a great day!  I had Special Olympics Regional Bowling early this afternoon followed up by a baby shower for a dear friend of mine.  The weather was perfect, and everything just worked out great.  Everything just was fabulous except for the fact that I cannot stop sneezing!!!

Yes….it is a fact that I am trying to get over a sinus infection now.  Yes….also a fact that I can feel so much pressure still behind my sinuses that it makes my equilibrium a little off…almost as though I was pie-eyed (if you know what I mean!)  Yes…..I probably hold now the girl who “sneezed the most in a day” Guinness Book of World Records!   So I propose the question “why do we sneeze?”…..I consulted the best research tool ever “The Google” and this is what I found…basically we sneeze to get rid of bad particles in our nose.  It is our body’s natural reaction to clearing our system out.  Here if you actually want to read the “scientific” version: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=why-do-we-sneeze.

No one once said “bless you”!  Oh well.

Today has been so low key!  So many times I find these are the best days to just chill and find peace in myself.  I like to imagine what it would be like on a beach somewhere, imagine me laying out soaking up the sun!  I like the idea of it remaining summer all year here but, I like my seasons too much.

see now why can't I be this guy right now?

Well I hope that my night continues to go smoothly.  I have to pack tomorrow because I get to go to FLORIDA Monday night!  HOLLLAAA!

🙂 Peace and love ladies and gents!

Brrr….it’s cold in here…there must be some HMM-HMM’s in the atmosphere!

Today is a cold relatively unproductive day.  It started about 4:30 am when I woke up in a complete panic.  I couldn’t breathe at all.  I propped my head up and hoped for the best.  I also took some Musin-ex.  Man that stuff is chalky and gross!  It helped a little but not enough for me to get thru.  I went to work, then our production meeting, then straight to Redi-Med.  I feel like I am going to get sick just sitting there!!

They got me in and said it was a sinus infection.  Antibiotics and rest.  How can you rest when you’re getting ready to go to FLORIDA!?!?  Yes, it is impossible….especially when you have as much going on as I do now.  OH well.  AND the crazy weather people are talking SNOW!  WHAT THE HECK!  We are supposed to be having bon-fire not be sledding right now!  Grrr…..

Well I met a good friend of mine out for lunch today.  Both of us were complete space cadets today.

yep...this is exactly how I feel...

Her stressful job is making her life crazy and my circus of a life and my latest sinus infection is making our life impossible.  Well we saw two people at lunch where we both just cringed.  Yes its getting cold outside, but two arrogant HMM-HMM’s walked in and we just about lost it.  How dare them find us?  They had some nerve interrupting our lunch, what lurches!  They walked in the door and walked toward us without a word–only glares.  How rude!

Right back at cha!!!

Without little acknowledgement or even a spoken hello they sat down beside us and ordered their food.

Well, we gathered our change and got our coats on…we proceeded toward the door.  As we got up out of our seats my friend proclaims “man it is getting so cold in here (staring at our HMM-HMM’s)”  “Uh yes it is…”  That’s when we threw our purses down and we burst into song…..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDoU71zwpXI&feature=related

Yes just imagine us doing this little intro in the middle of J.K. O’Donnell’s projected at our little HMM-HMMs.  🙂  You know I am not one for fabricating things, but, this was awesome.  EVERYONE in the joint knew the words exactly and started to join in…table by table and bar stool by bar stool….they all chimed in!  AMAZING!  Just to tell those HMM-HMM’s Torrence and Big Red don’t give up so easily…man we showed them!

Today of all days I wish I was flexible.  After about 13 years of cheerleading, you would think I would be but it just isn’t in my cards!  I have taken Yoga, stretched, etc.  But today I just feel old.

It’s a humbling feeling sitting with my friend Herb who is 95 (yes mark my word 95 years old!! I have had to remind him a few times!)  It is never a dull moment being in his company.  Well today we sat and had lunch at his Retirement Center.  He made a motion with his hand pointing at the old “biddies” talking loudly and causing a scene.  “They always have to be the center of freaking attention…Crap!” he said.  It seemed like that women were talking about us for some reason.  I am sure at their age they look for every piece of gossip they can and just talk to hear themselves speak.  You know how us women are!  😉  Their glares, their “quiet” whispers, and most of all their constant loud chair scoot!  OH man does that drive him nuts!

Today he was particularly on edge because he hasn’t been feeling well.  Good Ol’ Herb…maybe if your lucky I will share with you a few stories.  He is definitely a good friend.  ANYWAYS, Well first the glares started and you know that he didn’t miss that one.  He heckled from across the room “heeeey what are you looking at?!”  They quickly turned back around and acted as thought they were minding their own business.  EVERYONE knew it was Herb talking.  He has quite the reputation around there and that’s when we got the stares.  Man, that was the funniest thing ever.  If you could just imagine a bunch of old men and women just staring and looking disgruntled.  It was pretty awesome I am not going to lie.

Well we made it thru our usual soup and jello.  Herb ALWAYS gets that combination and as we were walking out this same women who just could not take her eyes off of us before asked if I was his daughter!?  We both got a good laugh out of this one.  He explained I was a friend’s daughter and his “Personal Secretary”.  She seemed satisfied with that response and we got the heck out of dodge!

You see this wasn’t the first time people had reason to wonder about me.  I have many friends who are usually older and more than likely male and people like to ponder what mischief I’m up to…  To me, that is the perfect position to be in!  One time I got mistaken as Herb’s “mistress”!  UH yeah right!  hahahaha.  That was the best one thus far.  I have been seen with my associate at a restaurant where his wife works and all the waitresses love to talk!  So point blank they asked his wife about who I was and man she played right along with it.

I think it is fun to leave people wonder.  I get the satisfaction and a good laugh at watching them.  What an amazing reminder not to assume and enjoy your company.  Who cares if you get stared down by some old women!  What are they going to do cane ya?

Look out! I saw what you did!
