Heart Forever Changed: Love

Standard

Appreciation can make a day – even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary. — Margaret Cousins

Today, I am full of love and appreciation. You know when someone has had such an impact on you that your heart is forever changed.  It is by the grace of God that this occurs.  I have a very good friend to which has touched and transformed my heart and soul.  We have been friends for 6 years and we got reconnected after sometime.  I can’t quite explain it in words yet.  Maybe he inspired me?  Maybe my heart is still full of love from the wedding. 😉 Or maybe I am just starting to get this “how to love” thing…I love those people in my life that challenge me, inspire me, and push me to be the best person I can be!

Who and what do you appreciate today? Dare to appreciate and live your life with a purpose. It doesn’t have to be a BIG purpose. That is the misconception. It is not through BIG things to which progress is made. It is through small acts of purpose and love to which sustains and fulfills our deepest needs. I want to challenge you to inspire and positively affect one person today. Tell someone today you appreciate them.

Love and Inspiration: Return to Normal?

Standard

“Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.”
Bruce Lee

Today, I am going to use this as a morning inspiration. This artist took trash and created a beautiful piece of art. Now I realize the connotation of the matter as it could be taken as negatively as the subject, but I think he did a phenomenal job. From trash it became this beautiful piece. Kind of cool that he is thinking outside the box!! One man’s trash is another man’s treasure!

Don’t be afraid to think outside the box.  Don’t be afraid to try something different and make it your own.  Be not afraid of the repercussions of being different.  Venture into the great unknown and fall in love with your life.  Lately, I have been lacking inspiration.  I have felt in a funk, but different then usual.  I am so blessed because my friends have been there for me when I have needed them most.  Mostly all old and longstanding cherished friends.  Oh how I love them all so.

“Surrounding myself with all my positive friends is the best medicine that no doctor can prescribe.”   Nishan Panwar

There is a lot going on right now in life and a lot is on my plate.  I will be relieved when school is done (6 months and counting), and Wedding is done.  AND life might go back to some normalcy.  Who am I kidding!  My life is far from normal.  I am forever thankful for that is fact!

Part 2: Lemon Cake

Standard

Please, if you are confused, refer back to my previous post of Lemon Cake.  🙂

Long story short, I had a dream about one of my dearest friend’s wedding reception.  Mars was darling!  Needless to say, everything went so well and the happy bride and her husband not only cut every rug in the place…but never stopped smiling or having fun!  I was unable to go to the Wedding itself due to my cousin’s graduation party.  It was the best happy medium I could find.  Unlike my dream, I did have lemon cake (what are the odds!) and there was plenty to go around!  I was not late either and in fact, I was 1/2 hour early!  I was so nervous about that, but it all worked great!

I think my dreams are serving as a warning for me.  Leave on time.  Plan ahead.  Beware of “cute men” I mean, cough cough, CON-MEN.  Keep your wits about you.  Know where you are at and be aware of those around you.  Last night, was just one more example.

Standing in the check out line at Target, I got asked out on a date.  My reaction?  “No I am sorry, I have a steady boyfriend.”  Cool, calm, and collected.  He then announces, “…everyone has someone and I have not been on a date in 11 years!  It has been since May 11, 2001!”  I proceeded, first not making eye contact and second, “…well stop focusing on it so much and she will come.  You have to be patient!”   (What I really wanted to say is well you are being ridiculous crazy man!!?!)    Then, I quickly gathered my things and went directly to my car.  Weird, right?  He was buying mops and cleaning supplies too.  Screams serial killer to me!  CatMan was neither impressed or fooled.  I was shocked at the fact that just happened.  Oh well.  Thank you Sticky Buns Dream for saving me from something that could have been potentially a really bad situation!

Still trying to figure out this one right now.  2 days ago I had a dream about a family I know.  They live about an hour away and I was having a conversation with her husband at their house.  I have never actually been to their house.  Her husband just had this “proud papa” glow about him and he told me that their son was going to be a pilot in the Armed Forces.  It wasn’t Army like him, but something else.  It was interesting, but that was all I remembered.  After telling my friend, the beautiful wife in this situation, about it she said that their son was getting bored with his job and they keep trying to work around it!  This will not last forever.  She said he might be better served in that sort of job versus what he is doing.  Hmmm….wonder what this could bring…any thoughts?

What dreams have you had lately?  Anything good??

Carry your candle…

Standard

So, I have decided today was kind of blah.  I got a few things done (cough 2 projects!) and then I was done.  A rough Monday if you will.

This past weekend was filled with interesting happenings.  First off, I think as we all have specific energy that helps gravitate others either away or toward us.  It’s almost like seeing people of light and of dark in a sense.  For me, I tend to attract some pretty cool people but, they might not necessarily be anyones first choice.  I love them!  Those are the people who make things happen.  For an instance, on Friday night when I was getting my nails done, Nicki was the name of the woman who took care of me.  She was going thru some guy issues.  I could tell she had something on her mind, so I asked.  Sometimes, people just need you to ask!   We had an at length conversation about boyfriends, marriage…etc.  🙂  She had a dim light because of all the crap she was going thru…but I guarantee once she eliminates that–she will be in good shape!

Next, my friend Katherine and I ate dinner at a restaurant that has really good sweet tea.  We walked in, out of the cold, and had a delightful time.  I am sure people thought we might be sauced because both of us together are all giggles and politeness.  🙂  Then the manager came around to check on us and we struck up a conversation about his situation!  He was planning a wedding with his 24-year-old fiancée and so we were drilling him on that!  How great…then out of no where he asked me if I wanted a gallon of sweet tea!  UH HECK YES I DO!  My inner child was just jumping for joy!  Best part being I got it for free.

The attraction just kept coming thru the last part of our night at Karaoke.  While we were up singing, the table right in front of us participated in our singing antics.  We were energetic, and just having a blast.  AND the one that I had a connection to was named Gopher.  He was a regular.  We talked about everything.  Literally.  He probably gave me the biggest complement ever that night.  He told me that the reason why I could carry a conversation on with anyone about anything was because I was secure with in myself.  That means this stranger could see what progress I made in the last 2 years.  That is huge.  His light too burned brightly.  So did the stage lights though….

OH my did I feel like such a Rock Star up there!   “DON’T STOP BEELLLLIEEVVING…..HOLD ON TO THAT FEEELLLING!  STREET LIGHTS, PEOPPLLLE!”  (excerpt from Journey-Don’t Stop believing)  By the end of the night, we were dancing on tables and singing at the top of our lungs!  I never thought that would be possible but OH yes it was!  We ended up closing the bar down.

Well on Saturday, it was all about my Special Olympic athletes.  🙂  Totally had Bowling State!  Everyone did so well.  There were 13 athletes that competed.  We had two athletes place first and it was super awesome.  There is just something so special about them.  You could see the nervous looks on their faces as well as succeeding…it is one thing you can just never replace.  I think the coolest thing that happened though on Saturday was when an athlete from another team got a strike.  She ran and gave me a hug!  I just hugged her right back but how precious is that?

I think that if you really think about things and about how we all connect, you might be more inclined to let your light shine a little brighter.  Deal with the situations you are given, take a lesson from each and move on!  Those who understand, will always support you.

Visualize:  A dark world with little specks of light scattered around it, some brightly burning and others dark as night.  Imagine if the specks gravitated toward one another.  What a bold visual!  What if then the semi bright ones also reflected in the darkness and made them bright too?  What a beautiful bright world this would be.  Let us strive for that kind of world today!

Carry your candle 🙂
